第一幕
[在很久很久以前，有一片美丽的大树林，树林里住许多小动物，有小鸟、小猴、杜鹃、松鼠、小鹿，还有骄傲的小兔子，和勤垦的乌龟。有一天，在小河边上，发生了一件非常有趣的事情：早晨和往常一样，安静而明朗]
1、（兔子出场：一蹦一跳的）
兔子：我是一只小兔子，长着四条腿，跑起路来可快了。哈，今天天气真好，蓝天高高白云飘飘，太阳公公在微笑，（喊）小伙伴们，大家一起来玩吧！
众动物：来啦——（出场：跑跳步）（围圈做游戏）
2、（乌龟出场：慢腾腾地）
乌龟：我是一只小乌龟，今天是妈妈的生日，我要赶快去采一束鲜花送给我的妈妈。哎呦,哎呦!（一不小心翻了过来）
第二幕
（小兔子瞧见乌龟）
兔子：乌龟，乌龟，你在干什么？
乌龟：我在跑步。
兔子：（哈哈大笑）哈哈哈，你也会跑步，咱们来赛跑，好吗？（乌龟看了看兔子，没理它。兔子是存心逗乌龟的，见它不理睬，更来劲儿了，唱道：）
乌龟乌龟爬爬，一早出门采花，乌龟乌龟走走，傍晚还在门口。哈哈哈——
众动物：乌龟乌龟爬爬，一早出门采花，乌龟乌龟走走，傍晚还在门口。哈哈哈——
乌龟（生气了）：有什么了不起的，谁说我跑的慢？赛就赛！
兔子：那好，看谁先跑到那边山脚的大树底下。
（音乐）这一下，小河边可就热闹起来了，
猴子裁判：预备——飓（哨子）
众动物：加油——加油——
（兔子跑了老远，回头一看）
兔子：嘻嘻，乌龟才跑了那么一点点，我在这儿歇会儿，等它跑到这儿，不，那儿，我再跑，冠军也是我的。（还得意地唱起歌）乌龟乌龟爬呀爬，笑掉我的大门牙！
（兔子把身子一歪，脚一翘，眼一闭，不一会儿，竟呼呼地睡了。那乌龟爬呀爬，等到它爬到兔子身边，已经累得不行了，真想停下来歇会儿）
乌龟：不行，我爬得慢，决不能歇。（它又坚持爬呀爬。）
过了很长很长时间，兔子醒了。（往后一看）
兔子：乌龟呢，怎么还没爬到这儿呀！（再往前一望），不得了，乌龟已经在大树下了。
（兔子拼命地跑过去，可等它到了大树下，乌龟已经在那儿等它了。）
众动物：耶——（欢呼）乌龟胜利了，乌龟胜利了！
第三幕
（乌龟爬上领奖台，猴子裁判为它颁奖，长颈鹿为它送上一束鲜花，每位小动物为它送上一句祝贺的话。
乌龟：今天，我得了冠军，心里好高兴，我要把这束花送给我妈妈，作为生日礼物，她一定会很高兴的。
（小兔子在一旁，难为情地低下了头）
旁白:骄傲使人落后,谦虚使人进步。小兔子吸取了足够的教训,从此每天起早训练跑步,一点也不偷懒，终于在第45届动物世锦赛跑步项目中得了第一。
